Programs & outreach

Four programs.
One promise.

IMID delivers care, knowledge, equipment, and opportunity directly into the hands of underserved communities — first in Ikun Amure-Ekiti, and outward to anywhere the gap is widest.

Program

Medical Outreach Missions.

Free clinics in underserved communities — screenings, consultations, treatment, and follow-up referrals — led by volunteer physicians, nurses, and allied health professionals from the diaspora.

  • General consultations and triage
  • Maternal and child health
  • Chronic disease screening (hypertension, diabetes)
  • Eye care, dental care, and pharmacy
Program

Health Education.

Community-level health literacy: hygiene, nutrition, maternal care, disease prevention, and mental wellness. We meet communities where they are — in churches, schools, town halls, and homes.

  • Maternal and infant health workshops
  • Hypertension and diabetes self-care
  • Sanitation and infectious disease prevention
  • Adolescent and mental health awareness
Program

Equipment Donations.

Targeted donations of medical equipment, supplies, and consumables to under-resourced clinics and hospitals — chosen in partnership with on-the-ground clinical staff who know what's actually needed.

  • Diagnostic equipment (BP cuffs, glucometers, otoscopes)
  • Surgical and OB/GYN supplies
  • PPE, wound care, and pharmacy stock
  • Educational materials for clinic teams
Program

Education Access.

Scholarships, learning resources, and mentorship for young people in the communities we serve. Health and opportunity rise together — we invest in both.

  • Need-based scholarships and tuition support
  • Books, supplies, and digital learning tools
  • Mentorship from diaspora professionals
  • Career and study skills workshops

How a mission works

Five steps. In order.

  1. 01
    Listen
Engage local leaders to understand specific needs, not assumed ones.
  2. 02
    Plan
Build a mission team and supply list matched to the community.
  3. 03
    Mobilize
Coordinate volunteers, logistics, and partner clinics.
  4. 04
    Deliver
Run the mission on the ground: clinics, education, equipment hand-off.
  5. 05
    Sustain
Stay in touch, measure outcomes, plan the return visit.

the next mission?

We need clinicians, educators, logistics support, and donors. There's a role for almost everyone.
